Let me introduce myself I’m NightLife as you have surmised and this is my brand spanking new blog. Whoever thought I’d have one of those. Thanks for the assist Matt.
I started out more years ago than I care to remember by doing some co-hosting at Blackjack’s old site. This is sadly gone now. Then I got the chance to do my own column at Paolo Marcucci’s Shadowrun Archive. Matt was kind enough to give me my own little site on the Net. He’s someone I’m glad to call a friend. My old articles were full of gaming angst as only an 18 year old can muster. But they well received so I can stick that feather in my cap. Plus they were devoted to improving gaming in general and Shadowrun in particular.
Let’s update my streetcred as it were. I’ve been gaming since I was 14 and have continued to this day. I’ve been involved in SR since it’s inception in 1989 where it was introduced and I played until 1991 when I got the game mastering bug. My squad as I like to call them has had 4 incarnations with seven successful long term campaigns. The changes have been dramatic for both the good and the bad over the years. I’ve watched the some really cool things happen and some of the worst kind group infighting that I’ve ever seen. To those losers I don’t miss you one bit. But for the most part I’ve been involved in some really good role-playing.
I’ve also managed to get myself married to a beautiful woman in 2001 and I became a father to my son Aiden on April 20 2008. I have a decent job a house and more cats than you can shake a stick at.
While I haven’t seen everything in gaming, I’ve seen Shadowrun go through 4 separate editions. I’m still a 3rd edition hold-out since I really haven’t had a good chance to play 4th. But I can’t stand the technomancers. Just make them nanite driven and I think I’ll be okay though. Throughout all this I think I have enough experience to hold a wide variety of well backed opinions and concepts about gaming and Shadowrun in particular.
